I work with a lot of vibrant colors, so this time around I wanted to go with something a bit darker. And for that I wanted to do a plague doctor. The setting for this is inspired by my character Adamus, who is haunted by the spirits of the people he failed to save and now wanders a shadow-filled realm void of human contact. Although once he was needed to fend off illness, now he himself is plagued by doubts and the burden of guilt, the flames hovering close at all times a grim reminder of his failure.Related content

damn, that is depressing. And i dont really like depressing stuff. Less now than back in the days, where i was still creating depressing stuffs myself. But at least its drawn well^^

Yeah, I really wanted to go for something that was darker in both color in tone compared to much of my other work. Hope it doesn't put too much of a damper on your spirits! If I remember correctly, you've explored some darker themes in the past yourself (your style lends itself well to that).
I acknowledge that this piece is quite dark, but if it makes you feel any better the spirits that follow him don't harbor any ill will despite their fate. If anything they kind of look out for Adamus since he's struggling to do that for himself.

yeah dont worry. I pretty much fell out of dA too. Im only rarely looking onto it because there are still some artists, like you, that i actually care about. But im kind of not posting much anymore

Understandable! I still look at your art page every now and then, even if there aren't any updates. After all, you've given me a lot of good reviews in the past and I really appreciate those. I have so much art from classes that I know I could be posting, but it's so different from what I usually post and I haven't had the time to work on much else. Come summer I'll try to be more consistent, but I'm also trying to expand to other places.

if you have an instagram or something it would be lotz more convenient as in my opinion its a better page for art. Im there every day at least once to look at what my peeps post.
And the style that i have changed into is WAAAY of from what you can see on my page right now. Its completely different. But id say you are going to appreciate it as its going more in your direction... kinda

This is incredibly stunning, I love the composition and how the colours grow into one another - beautiful. I also really liked your description of this piece, it really gave it more depth. Sooo good

Thank you! I don't usually go for these kinds of colors, but I'm happy with how it turned out. The composition was something I've had in mind for a while, and I was glad to finally go through with it. I'm more motivated to do art when there's a story behind it, in any case!
