So I was thinking about some of my old favorites, and well, Alanna the Lioness was pretty high up there. I decided to re-read the series and got inspired to try and re-draw Alanna, since I hadn't tried to since I was, like eleven. I had a lot of fun with this picture, going more for the "feel" of the character in my mind than complete accuracy... since she didn't have long hair except for a little bit in the third book XP.
