Description
The Nephilim is an amalgam of technologies, both human and alien, designed by the Pre-Human Extraterresrial Research Institute (PHERI) as an alleged showcase of unified technology. However, its hard to miss the massive armaments and combat capabilities of this little warship.
The Nephilim is somewhere between a heavy strike fighter/bomber and a pinnace. It operates with either a two or three man crew, is one of the smallest vessels to come equipped with a negative mass drive, and carries a staggering array of weapons. It is fast, nimble and well-armored. But it is also expensive to manufacture and repair, and upgrades and alterations are nearly impossible with its integrated systems.
Some are not buying PHERI's claim that the ship is a showpiece, pointing out the organization's construction of a dedicated production factory and its increasingly militant stance. There are spreading rumors that PHERI is anticipating a coming war, and its eyes are turned not toward the aliens humanity knows, but toward the Terminus Line and the unexplored reaches of the Origin Expanse...and all the unknown horrors it is rumored to hold.
