Description The sea hippo is by a significant margin the more common of the two species of desmostylian, the other being the colossal bilgarobi. Sea hippos live in large but loosely connected herds. Unlike the bilgarobi, which cannot truly swim, the sea hippo is able to swim for short bursts, although mostly they plod along the bottom as they graze. Their close cousins have been reported in Kairul, and it is thought that they are present throughout most tropical coastal waters throughout the continents of the planet.
