Description I was asked what the background for the bad to the bone piece looked like by itself. So i included the one from the devilgirl piece as well. For the most part they are nothing more than circles and dots at varied line weights and sizes. Its a little more complex than that, as i didn't just toss elements around at random, but on the same token they are really abstracted version of various art nouveau styles, mainly Alphonse Mucha. They are a bit more of a grounded abstraction, as i still wanted that nouveau style to show through, but compared to other backgrounds i have put in images thay are way less realistic in content.

Some of the elements i add in on top of what i already have when i decide to use it for a piece. Like the little devil girl symbol, or the bad to the bone text. As far as making them I just start with a 12 by 12 canvas in photoshop. Lay down a base color, pick another color and use the pencil tool at different sizes and start laying down circles. In illustrator it gets a lot more complicated than that, but the process is fairly simple. Perhaps i should just post some plain ones in the scraps section maybe that will give you a better idea.

Just wondering... (I've always adored your art and backgrounds) what program(s) do you use?

I always used photoshop. Recently while trying to play around with some digital inking and just straight drawing in the computer i have begun to experiment with Illustrator

I'd agree. SOmething about it is almost addictive. I have 50 or more 12 by 12 files of nothing but shapes and dots. Just as fun in illustrator or in Photoshop. Next thing you know an hour has flown by.
