Description Test render of my new model, trying to match the "eye-glow" of the Ironman movie. Not sure what to do for the metal surfaces. Maybe use some reference images of tanks and try to match that kind of dull metallic look. Just threw on a shiny white mia_material for now. I like the way the the "round corners" parameters turned out. Saves me from beveling edges everywhere



Maya 8.5, mental ray. ~100k polys
Beauty + ambient occlusion + depth render passes composited in post.

How did you get that glow?
Just a normal texture with the glow effect turned on?

There are some glow settings on the standard phong material in Maya. I just played around with them and the emissive color on the material until I got the look that I wanted.

Step 8 in this tutorial explains most of it.
