Description Ancient Wisdom

This image was shot in the same place of "The Vigilant" photo - [link] - in the magical Lindoso village, in Serra do Gerês. Here you can see what we call "espigueiros", a structure built to protect the harvests from rodents, and to allow them to dry faster. These structures are scattered over the North of Portugal and Galicia in Spain, and they have such a unique look, that I had to capture some shots including them. I used my ultra-wide angle lens from a low point of view, to emphasize scale, and used a 3 stop ND Grad for the sky.

I miss this place so much, it had such a magical and serene atmosphere, not making me want to leave...

Your incredible photo is featured: Stash A SunbeamWhat do you do for the dark days when the clouds hide the sun?  Can you take a handful of golden light and put it in a jar in your refrigerator like turkey leftovers or the remains of your best friend's birthday cake?  If you could, could you distil the essence of sunlight and mix it with holy water to repel supernatural beings that prey in the night?  What if you could do the same with art which brings light to your days? Here are some lovely works to remember--I hope you'll enjoy these fine artists' galleries artists, too!  Today's music was the name inspiration of this feature, so here's wishing you a Pocket Full of Sunshine, all week long!  Love in Christ always, -Debra

o contraste entre a luminosidade do solo e a escuridão so céu quase tempestuoso é mesmo atraente.
Quando estive precisamente nesse sítio, senti algo que ainda me lembro bem. E esta imagem transmitiu-me esse sentimento

Stunning shot!
The lighting is perfect, and the sky is very dramatic looking. The statues/monuments themselves are very interesting, I especially like the different shaped legs they are on.

Great photo! The light is wonderful and the scenery is amazing

In Galicia these are called Cabazos and in Asturias there are also some similar ones. In the west there are stone ones as in Galicia. And in the rest of Asturias you can find wooden ones. The squared ones are called Horreos and the rectangular ones (these are the largest) are called Paneras.
