That is beautiful! I hear that humanity is actually able to see fewer stars now than in the early 19th century and before because electric light makes it harder to see them. You have to travel out somewhere VERY remote to get a good view of the stars.

One of the things I do almost every night is to take our dog out for a walk. Β Though not every evening is clear enough to see the start, and even when it's clear, you can't see as many as you can out away from the city and all its lights... i love to watch the progression of the stars through the seasons -- to watch the moon as it waxes and wanes, to see the constellations as they rise and fall, to see the few stars that I know, and to feel at home.

I want to see the stars like this so bad. My neighborhood is kind of close to the country so you can see stars, just not as good as this.

When I was a girl and on the Farm I could lay on the back hill and see the whole Milky Way laid out in all Her splendor; now that I'm an Matronly Woman and we've moved to the city the light poisoning leaves me with only a very few stars indeed.
