This is a request for a writer over at fanfiction.net, Sybil Rowan. Well, she didn't have a specific request, so I just drew a scene from one of her fanfics I enjoy (which was hard, I enjoy all of them)

Though, the vast majority of her works explore the 004x002 relationship. I can honestly say her fics won me over as a fan of this pair. ^^
This specific drawing came from a scene in this fic, Hyperballad
Took me a while to get the composition right. The colors did not come out how I first saw them AT ALL. I'm not unhappy with them, I got to practice a lot of subtle blending and other stuff that I had a ball doing, it's just not how I pictured the room when I read the fic. Oh well. xD

Is it me or is it his left leg always has the worst luck?
He busted it open (twice!) in the 2001 anime and then it gets blown off in the manga. That leg really hates him doesn't it? Bad leg!

I think the 2001 series was trying to make a knowing nod to the original manga, but just didn't have the guts to go all the way like that did.

I think the writers wanted to make it more "age-appropriate" if you ask me. ;D
But yeah, imagining Jet getting his leg blown in the anime is like getting kicked in the solar plexus. It's something you just cannot bear to bring to mind.
Btw me and were having a discussion about Jet's anatomy (since we're both aviators and love looking at the aspects of Jet's structure), and we were debating what that goo was bleeding from his knee (in the ep were they go to Africa). We both thought at first it was fuel or petroleum, but in the end we both said it was like some sort of nutrient leakage, which is another nod from the manga.
Gotta keep it "real" for the kiddies!

Also, since that is your interest, you may like this fanfic writer's stuff. Though she does focus on the relationships, she does some excellent thoughts on the cyborgs internal workings. It's really cool :3

oh indeedy..i plan to make a battle-scarerd jet bit for my cosplay..a little painted up silver legging peice to look like a shot up knee...leakign fuel and hydraulic fluids..heehee

workign on that as i work on the jet cosplay.....i've been starign at picks of his knee internals from the eps he's smashed up in to get it as close to accurate as i can.....the hard part is making it look like my leggings i'll be wearing for him are toen to hell. (that's right, my jet cosplay will have tight pants...heh. so jet can...distract Albert better.)

The Shimamuras intrest me because I wanna see how they play out (And cause Takuma seems like a hotter Joe...only more Bad-a and actually KNOWING he is rather than our dear little Joe who has no idea he's cute and seems not to notice much of that anyways. Me and some friends have a theory about that.)
They are. Jet's lingo makes me laugh and Albert...just him! I love it. You can just imagine it, Jet, walking in somewhere in the future and saying something like that and all these kids having NO idea what he's saying while these old people (like, really old) understand him perfectly and start yelling at him.

I'd say I have about 4 episodes after episode 8, then another 5-6 episodes after the (almost) defeat of Black Ghost. After that, I have about 8-9 episodes during and after the Greek God story arc. (plus a few random episodes here and there.... I'll have to watch them all again to figure out which ones I've got...)
