I'm not a hundred percent shure, but I don't think someone that's been stabed in the guts a few times could actually survive for that long... Then again I'm not an expert or anything.

In the military, it's common to see this happen. Right before you die, you're body carries out it's last action. Even if you've been shot in the head, the brain has already set up your body to do the last thing you planned on doing.

Hmm - I'm not an expert myself, but maybe during her struggles against death she managed to lift the weapon? Or this is more or less a few seconds after she got pierced. There's no indication on how much time has passed. But I'm neither a doctor nor anything similar myself and just put this into the same drawer where skeletons walk around in clothes while goat kings rule a kingdom underground.
