WHEW.

Here it is - I'm very, VERY pleased with it, but I feel like I could sit tinkering with it for another month. At some point, though, I really just have to stop. However, you'll nevertheless probably see an improved version of this some time over the summer.

As this is a very complex entry, I believe it merits a scene by scene description:

OPEN AREA OF THE LABYRINTH

I needed to do at least ONE bit that referenced my favourite movie of all time, so I made sure that this part looked a bit like the beginning of the labyrinth in Jim Hensen's oh so wonderful Labyrinth. The mechanical cuckoos are based on great spotted cuckoos, and are, naturally, a reference to cuckoo clocks.

GIANT CUCKOO CLOCK

For those who can't remember, this is based on Sailor Pluto's gates of time. The little figures are acting out a scene in *marie-berry and *kennasaur 's fan mythos or what have you. Also note that the girl in Xena's memories who isn't Pluto is *silver-eyes-blue 's Sailor MakeMake. and that the girl with Xena in sillhouette is *oasiswinds 's Sailor Earth.

ENCLOSED PORTION OF THE LABYRINTH

I tried to make this look a little like a ship. Note that the mouse has a hook to replace the missing end of it's tail.

WATER CLOCK

First of all, you may not realize that what the wind up Dizzy and Xena are dancing around is an African water clock. The bowl at the top has grooves on the edge which allow the water to slowly drain throughout the day, and time is told by marks on the inside. Also note that the tails of the mermaids are shaped like Victorian clock hands.

ROTATING DOORS

They're supposed to be rotating clockwise on the circular gear - hope you can tell!

STONEHENGE

This particular one should be fairly self explanitory if you remember that Stonehenge was meant to be a calender, and if you've been keeping up with *Valendra 's comics.

For the rest...Burton and steampunk and pirates, oh my. Also dragons.
