Yeah, but we didn't upload it to an artsite, claimed it as ours, and negleted to give any sort of credit to the original :/ It'd be ok if she would have used it as reference for the pose, but it looks like she just traced the lines from the original and colored over it. And her entire gallery is like this save for when she actually credited some base so it's obvious she's not just practicing to get better.

At first, I saw a distance difference between the lines of this and the original. then I pasted this and the original in photoshop and unstretched this to find out the lines were identical in proximity. This rules out my initial theories that the person was using the pose as reference.

But since you've bothered to invite my attention...

You do anime art. Some Sailor scouts, some dragon balls,etc.

Technically the creators of those could offer you the same argument about reusing their characters without their permission.

The fact that your art can be defined as "anime art" suggests that it's heavily influenced by the Japanese art form. Original poses or not, you are copying on some level.

...the fact that you obviously aren't living in japan rules out the concept that this isn't inspired due to lack of alternatives.

Uh... I don't even know why you're mad at me :/ And how am I a troll? I'm not mocking you or trying to be aggressive, just explained that it was a trace since what you wrote in your comment made me think you hadn't noticed, that's all.

There is such as thing as the "fair use" exeption so, in most cases, fanart is not a copyright infringement. What I do is neither illegal under the law or against the rules of the site. What this person is doing is both. And I think it's fair to say that every artist is influenced by something. If you don't have any respect for the style I use, that's ok. Just don't say I'm a thief, that's going a little far.
