This portrait is very beautiful. I really like the shades on her body, especially on her shoulder, where the arms begins, and the reflections of the necklace on her skin. The glance is great too and full of meanings (sorry, my english is not rich enough). I really like the decoration on the background, did you use a reference for it?
One more thing, she looks like Tori Amos...

Anyway, back to your artwork!!! the saturation and depth of your colours is quite stunning....it is beyond me how you achieve this level of details with such an unforgiving medium....Outstanding work...the top of your tree, Anna, I'm awed!

Anyway You're very talented yourself.. sometimes I wish I could tone down my colors a bit cause i always seem too use a lot of bright blues and reds and I can't just settle for earth tones. Some of your work is bright and beautiful too, but then you capture subtle color extraordinarily as well!

I guess it all depends on the paper and what colour saturation that involves, still seems to me using cloth material doesent give you much chance for error...never tried it though...so I don't know....my ventures into oil have been mainly on canvas....oops only 2 actually!
Most of what I know is based on pencil work......I try to push it to the limit with this!
I love to watch what is around me though, and hopefully learn from that.....watching the best of the best like you does it for me though! no patronising here though, I love and am inspired by your work.......full stop

Shit thanks!!!... I find that cloth ,which I like linen the best is the most forgiving.. cause paper absorbs the paint really really fast so you cant pull the paint and areas for highlights back out. And I always end up tearing paper.. If you over work on cloth you can just sand it down. Also, linen is the most archival thing to paint on.. and lasts thousands and thousands of years. If you ever have any questions about oil paint please aske, its really very methodical.. the colors I use and everything.
You obviously push your pencils to the limit tho.. keep it up!!!!
