Description IT'S HALLOWEEN (hehe well not quite)

It's Halloween! It's Halloween!
The moon is full and bright
And we shall see what can't be seen
On any other night.
Skeletons and ghosts and ghouls,
Grinning goblins fighting duels,
Werewolves rising from their tombs,
Witches on their magic brooms.
In masks and gowns we haunt the street
And knock on doors for trick or treat.
Tonight we are the king and queen,
For tonight it's Halloween!

By Jack Prelutsky

Another big disaster that started just as a doodle of the ghost up above and the kid holding the pumpkin right below it. Anyway I can’t believe how much I had to recolor on paint, heh well now I know for sure my scanner can’t register gel pen. And at least it’s done now, I can’t recall how long I’ve been putting this one off, because I hate it so much.

Mediums used, gel pens, 4h, h, 2b, 6b, 8b pencils, colored pencils, special fine ink art pens, and one black prismacolor marker

Oh yeah and if anybody wants to see this in a full black and white version tell me.

so chaotic and lots of texture. I love it. I aim to have a little more of that in my work

To modest! This looks great!

Yes I am a bit modest but they again most people probably think this is too busy and it's too hard to see tiny details like the people. Anyway I'm glad you like it!

lol it's good to be modest (but that depends if modesty should be taken in offense)we all see our own flaws in art! I see what you mean anyway, I still love it!

I'm not sure why you hate it! I think it's a cool drawing!

insignificantartist In reply to Essenique-Arts [2010-01-10 10:02:20 +0000 UTC]

Well I don't think some people will like how busy it is, and I don't like how tiny I had to draw some details to the point you can't tell what they are. Thanks so much for the wonderful feedback though.

Maybe not some people, but I like it and you are very welcome! Sometimes the tiny details are what make a piece so interesting because it makes you look hard and use your imagination!

This is bad ass, I can't believe you don't like it! It's just so amazing I don't know what else to say.

Hehehe thanks, and hey thanks for all the faves too, you made my day! I guess I don't really like this because there's too much going on in the background details which are also almost too small in certain areas...particularly the people. But I guess that's what happens since I am not too fond of empty white space, and have too many ideas for the limited size of paper I'm using.

I see what you mean, some people might think that but honestly I think that's one of the great things about it because there's so much to look at, it's very visually stimulating. I like looking at all the small things, like the stairs on the left, the face in the moon, the grass on the hill (which is very nicely shaded btw), the creepy guy peeking out of the sewer drain, the person peeking out of the window of the house, etc.

Thanks again for such kind words, I'm really glad you find it visually stimulating and can notice all the tiny details! And here I thought the grass sucked the most out of the whole drawing.

Wow thanks again my friend, I love reading your stellar comments, although I feel a bit guilty for neglecting your great work in return. Sorry about that

Anyway I hope you had a great weekend.

Don't feel guilty, I don't give compliments hoping for praise or anything in return. It's always appreciated, but not expected I'm just making observations really

My weekend was pretty though, thanks for asking. Halloween always seems to sneak up & pass me by without me doing much of anything but passing out candy. It's cool though.

I know watch you mean, I just rented some scary movies, although I got to visit my brother the next night, go to a bar and listen to a great cover band.

That's cool, I take it they played some crowd favorites

I've been addicted to a new game I got, so I ended up just doing that when I wasn't being tugged away from it by trick or treaters

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

insignificantartist In reply to anacrime [2008-11-04 07:27:46 +0000 UTC]

Oh yeah they really pleasantly surprised me by the variety when they could play anything from Radiohead to Van Halen. And they would switch it up too, like the drummer would switch with the singer.
Hey what game are you addicted too?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

anacrime In reply to insignificantartist [2008-11-04 16:18:01 +0000 UTC]

That's pretty cool. Which radiohead songs did they play? That's cool about switching it up too, I've noticed more bands in general doing. Hell we've done that a bit in my band depending on the situation.

Which game? Fallout 3, the game kicks too much ass. I've been a huge fan of the series and this game delivers on pretty much every level.

insignificantartist In reply to anacrime [2008-11-04 18:43:52 +0000 UTC]

Well they only played their most popular song "creep", but anyway you can play more than one instrument, oh and what's your band's name?

Hmm I've never heard of Fallout 3, what's it about?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

anacrime In reply to insignificantartist [2008-11-04 19:52:10 +0000 UTC]

Ah that's cool they played that actually. I want to learn climbing up the walls myself.

Yeah I play quiet a few different things, guitar, bass, drums, tabla, keyboard/piano, & do a bit of singing.

My band's name is aepathy. We have two demo tracks for download at our website: [link]
if you want to check it out. We have a tool-like vibe...

Fallout 3 kicks much ass for fun. It's about a post apocalyptic USA 200 years after a nuclear war. It's an open ended role playing game, sort of like playing a Mad Max movie. The 1st two games are generally considered two of the best openeded RPG's of all time. Not sure if you played Elder Scrolls : Oblivion Gate but the same people made Fallout 3 (Bethseda). I highly recommend it.

Wow that’s a lot, I can sing decently I guess but can’t even play the guitar, man you’re talented! I’ll definitely have to check that out!
Sorry to say this but I never really got into any RPG games, it just seems silly waiting for your turn to fight.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

anacrime In reply to insignificantartist [2008-11-05 07:23:28 +0000 UTC]

thanks

This rpg is actually an fps, so no waiting to fight. They actually have this targeting system that is very cool though. It adds a new dynamic, theatric, & strategic element to fps combat.

Wow this piece is yours too! I didn't realize.. :eyepoping:
Wonderful work again!!!

You make me feel bad.. since the creation of digital art.. I rarely take a pencil to paper anymore.. (it's made me lazy)
I really should..

insignificantartist In reply to xgnyc [2008-10-26 19:11:12 +0000 UTC]

Oh sorry, I don’t want to make you feel bad, besides your work on the computer isn’t lazy at all, hehe mspaint was the first place I started drawing my own ideas before I got series with a pencil. I mean people probably love seeing their stock pictures used by you, when you manage to take them away to a different place and mood. I know if I had a stock picture and it was used, I would be humbled by artists like you, to be apart of something greater. Anyway thanks dear for another sweet comment and fav! Oh and if you do get to draw again tell me, I'd love to check it out.

hehe.. your so nice..
I don't actually mean that "you" make me feel bad.. I guess what I mean is that when I see that you and other artist are creating beautiful "traditional" arts it makes me feel bad that I should really keep in practice more and of course learn and improve..

But darn it the computer is so addictive..

insignificantartist In reply to xgnyc [2008-10-27 21:47:46 +0000 UTC]

Yeah I know what you mean, I feel bad that I don't paint more often or at all really. And that I have way too many drawings/collages started at the same time.
