Description

One of my favorite Spring flowers, the Bleeding Heart. Picture dug out from the *Spring leftovers* folder for it's colour. I'm so tired of greys and browns around...

The other hearts:
~ the first Bleeding heart;
~ my favorite Black Heart.

I love bleeding hearts! My in-laws have some in front of their house, when they bloom I should get some pics.... but it might be a while, it just snowed again today.

these are not rea flowers.

these are God's valentines.

He emails them to all the angels.

I got one once, but then God found out I wasn't really an angel so I didn't get one the next year.....

Thanks, Helen. They are persistent little buggers and almost don't require any care to grow back and bloom. And they look splendid when the bush is huge.

Those in the picture grow in the middle of a parking lot by the grill restaurant. What abuse they take during the summer you could hardly imagine. But they are back every Spring and bloom like crazy. Thankfully, or I would have to go and look somewhere else for them.

I'm glad you like new avvi. It's for now the only seasonal thing with me as I'm still in the middle of preparations. Even the tree had to wait for another week so we could pack all the boat stuff away. Having to store the equipment from two of them is making my house look like a boatyard.

Lucky you. I will have to wait till 19th or 20th for Kitty but she will be home for a month after that. Of course she will be still working and going to that farm of hers 50 miles one way but I hope not every day.

Take care, Helen, darling. Don't overdo it.

We need to be reminded that sometimes we should stop...........and take a breath. The world spins too fast at times. It is that time of year, so .............stop...........take a breath. Enjoy the Season and all that it can bring. Sending you love and a hug for Christmas.

Have you ever seen a String of Hearts plant? It's a skinny little vine with leaves every inch or so that are shaped like little grey and green mottled hearts...it's also called the Rosery Plant because every so often it will also have a "bead" on it...

Irena-N-Photography In reply to Kusanar [2006-12-12 15:55:39 +0000 UTC]

I'm afraid not. I will have to check my books for the picture of them and start looking. Maybe I'll get lucky and some neighbour will have them.

Thanks, Cathy. It was in good old times when my camera didn't have problems. Now it seems to hesitate with every shot and mess up most of the settings. I don't remember when it last took a clear macro shot. Or maybe that's me - hurrying too much and mucking it up.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

pastseeker In reply to Irena-N-Photography [2006-12-12 18:00:47 +0000 UTC]

Could be and could be both. I know I have trouble keeping steady, and macros are the worst for that sort of thing, anyhow. I am using up all my older shots now. Too busy, too cold and too sick to take more. Mine would for sure be blurry if I did shoot right now. Good to get through the older shots though, don't you think? Looking them over for the second time, we are not as critical on them. More apt to give them a second chance, and usually it is those that turn out to be the best of the lot, sometimes. So go for those older shots, love. I will have my faving button ready and waiting.
Feeling better? I am off the antibiotics finally. My doctor is worried about giving me more of them since we finally found one that I can take and so far am not allergic to it. So glad to know that! I took two rounds and no hives! Will be a while though before the mess is out of my lungs, and my left one is the worst. She wants to wait to take the next x-ray, said 2 months at least, to allow the time for it to clear out, and then check. We shall see. Hope those cold/flu bugs stay away for the rest of the year. Amanda has been sick all week. Was hospitalized over the past weekend. I have not written about that yet, though, in my journal. Same bug, me thinks, me hopes. If not, I don't want it, that is for sure. Am about to become a Michael Jackson, and wear a mask all the time. LOL!!

Irena-N-Photography In reply to pastseeker [2006-12-12 18:17:55 +0000 UTC]

I hope it will clear up soon. Poor you, I know I hate to be sick even for short time, and you had your share of that to last for a long time. Sorry to hear Amanda was in the hospital. Ouch, poor baby. It's always harder on us to take child's illness than our own. Looks like this Fall is stuffed with all kind of nasty bugs. Maybe with coming Winter and lower temperatures they will all disappear.

I am not taking any new pictures lately either, for the same reasons - too cold, too grey, too busy. Plus I really don't have patience to try to transfer them to my old Win98 desktop. So I wait for better mood and better weather. Meanwhile looking trough old shots and really discovering some nice pieces between them. You are right, with passing time we appreciate them more than at the first viewing.

Take care, Cathy, darling. Hope all will be well soon.
