Happy Birthday to Edgar Allan Poe, the great Master of dark literature and my huge inspiration🖤 (January 19, 1809)
His story “The Masque of the Red Death” made a great impression on me in due time, so I decided to illustrate it and at the same time celebrate the birthday of one of my favorite authors 💀

I wonder what would become of the country where "The Masque of the Red Death" takes place with its prince and most/all of its ruling class dead, along with most of the land's population. Any chance the nation would recover from something like this?

I remember one line mentioning how 'the plague ran its course' I could be off base but I had interpreted it to meen that some people did survive.
