Description
This handsome tower windmill standing near the English village of Chesterton is one of the most famous landmarks of Warwickshire. It was constructed in the 17th century at the orders ofย Sir Edward Peyto, the local Lord of the Manor. Sir Edward was an astrologist, so one theory states that the building did initially serve as an observatory, and was converted into a windmill later on. Whatever the original intention for the building, it's probable that he was in fact its architect.Related content
