BEAUTIFUL! Just when I'm looking for images in this time period. It fits him perfectly, too. <3

Man, I love this friend of yours. I often tire of seeing awkward teens trying to look cool in historical garb, but your friend really fits the part. It isn't just his age and face, but the way he poses and presents himself. Compliments to your friend and also to yourself for such craftsmanship!

Wonderful! And the wig is very accurate for the period. (Not that pouffy wig style seen in "Amadeus".)

WOW!!!
What's your source for silk brocade? Is there a closeup on the pocket embroidery anywhere?

Thank you!
I bought it from Cheapfabrics

It was a couple of years ago, though, so I don't know if they have the same kind of brocade. You can buy swatches, though. I'm sorry, no, I have no close-ups on the pockets.

He might well have stepped out of a court house in 1786! Beautiful work!

That is gorgeous! Very lovely! I do a bit earlier than that, but my boyfriend has been wanting to do somehing of this period again. (he used to work for a living history museum that did late 1700's or so.) But you have inspired me. I have to make one now.

You should join the SCA! And I need to find an 18th century group. (SCA's a Rennaisance/Medieval group.) They're everywhere! No, really. Though from what I've seen, the 18th and later re-enactors are better at staying historically accurate. But you should check it out! There's chapters all over the world.

I have friends in the SCA, so one of these days I may join. What I'd really love to do would be 17th century, but group-wise, there is a big gap there.

Wow! It's really awesome! It must have taken a very long time to finish?

Thank you. I'm not completely satisfied with the fit, truth be told. It didn't took very long to sew, though the time spanned some eight months- but then I had some very long pauses. :-D
