How is the pocket attached?

There is a narrow channel at the top and you run a ribbon through and tie it around your waist.

Thank you for the watch and the favs!

...and wear it underneath your petticoat. That's why petticoats had slits -- they're called pocket slits, and they are so that the wearer can reach her hand through the slit, and into the pocket underneath.

Yes, I know that. I also know that I should have worn pocket hoops and several more petticoats. However, this was an informal gathering, so I choose to wear it informally for several reasons.

It's very nice of you to share your knowledge, but perhaps you should make sure if the person you lecture for is aware of the knowledge too, before.

I wasn't intending to lecture; merely explain a little to the other person who was asking questions about pockets. You didn't mention anything in your artist's notes about your reasons for wearing it that way, nor in your own reply to that person, implying to me that you might not know. Now I know different, but how was I supposed to differentiate between potential ignorance and artistic license?

I failed to notice that your comment was a resonse to another comment. I did overreact a little and I apologize for that.
