In which I lament that pretty much the only character I could imagine my Fable III princess marrying is - of course - not available.
This comic is yet another of those things I dug up from my archives so that I could finally finish it. I drew the first sketch of this last September, about same time when I first expressed my displeasure about the subject on Tumblr: [link] So yeah, one of my biggest peeves in the game was that Ben Finn (or Page or pretty much any other plot relevant character) is not romanceable. Elliot met a sticky end right in the beginning of my game, so with both him and Ben out of the picture, the remaining choices don't seem all that appealing. Seems that almost any of the available bachelors are kind of lacking in personality (or have too much of it). Currently my Lilias is a single queen of Albion and honestly I can't see that changing anytime soon...

This is thing I despised most in Fable III ... well I lie, the "Sanctuary", useless melee combat and combat coming either to ranged or magic (which made game too easy), very boring final villain were my top most hated things of Fable III, but lack of marrying interesting unique NPC comes as next.
Why can't I marry likes of Page? Finn? Or nutcase Reaver that I actually wanted to both marry and kill in Fable II as well (I mean common game ... if you're forbidding me from killing this guy cuz of his VA, least let me bang his ass to justify it). Hell, I would marry Sabine if game let me do it. Why can't I marry someone who is actually interesting?
Only two unique characters I may marry are Veronica/Vincent who are just no. Veronica to some extent can pass but Vincent is just no and no for my female. Don't wanna sound as that guy but when it comes to "gold digger" I find guys as this complete turn off.
And second being your bf/gf Elise/Elliot if you didn't kill em at start. But at same time can't say I give crap for her/him. Actually, in this case I prefer Elliot over Elise. Only cuz I don't like Elise's hair.
This wouldn't be actually as much of problem if rest of generic NPC that you only can marry didn't look like copies of each others.Β Β

Sadly, too many people. =_= Honestly, I tend to find Elliot lovers who HATE poor Elise, and even they're rare. People just seem to despise the poor nerds.

I wish you could marry Ben Finn. I ended up marrying a lute player that lived in the old part of the city. He's nice, doesn't mind if I off on long adventures, and he gives me gifts and as far as computer characters go he looks fine. So all in all I'm happy with him. He's no Ben Finn, but he works.
Still, I totally understand how you feel about the Ben situation. Anyway, great comic I liked it. Β

Admitted I'm a sucker for Reaver... I was most pissed about Ben Finn not being romanceable.
Me playing Fable III for the first time: "Okay. I've reached the fortress and... W-w-whoa! Who's the blonde soldier? Holy crap, look at the guy! I may have found my husband in this game.
