So I saw the Game of the Year edition of Morrowind in Steam's summer sale few days ago and I just couldn't help myself. Now that I finally have a working version of the game with all the expansion packs, I feel like there might be time for some TES III fan art.Without further ado, here's my Dunmer nightblade Varril Velethi, who looks like he might much rather still be in Imperial prison. I have played the game as a warrior before so switching to a stealth/magic class was a bit of a shock. I think I had played less than five minutes before I got whacked by a couple of slaughterfish - and don't even get me started with Cliff Racers... *shudder* This should be an interesting playthrough, to say the least - or it will be once I learn how not to get killed by every single gremlin I come across.

LOL! I remember trying to deal with 5 of them when I was about level 2 or something, escorting that ungrateful woman to the shrine inside the Ghostfence. What a suicide mission!

At first when i arrived at Ghosfence with that women i was like: "COMMON UPDATE THE QUEST HERE IS YOUR FUCKING GHOSTFENCE SLOWASS WOMAN."Then i later relised i have to go inside....

Oddly enough, I don't mind the cliff racers. I was always able to snipe them off with archery or kill them pretty easily. Slaughterfish piss me off more. xP It got even worse when they got rid of underwater combat.

Morrowind is not a nice place. Due to volcanoes, the landscape being black due to molten lava. And all sorts of crap.

Rocky Riders are hard to attack them. it's immune to fight them with swords, spears and axes. only with bows and crossbows and magic spells.

Well we don't have to worry about them anymore at the very least. Jiub thankfully killed them off. One of the reasons that makes Skyrim so awesome for me. It has callbacks to Morrowind in both Dawnguard and Dragonborn.

You still got some nice ingredients to sell ... if you manage to separate the flock.

Considering what all Ive seen, from constant storms(i'm impressed to see Balmora when its not storming and/or night time), the nasty monsters, the blighted rats that are everywhere, people who are not afraid to put murder on the table when dealing with problems, Dark elf racism, and the generally inhospitable climate, I can't imagine why ANYONE would live here. And don't even get me started on the cliff racers!

Wow I really wish I had someone capable of doing this type of art in my guild. I would literally just sit on the forums all day and look at their drawings xD. This is literally some of the best artwork I have seen in quite a while. Keep up the awesome work!

It's from the game. The whole story starts with "They have taken you from the Imperial City's prison, first by carriage and now by boat, to the east to Morrowind..."

Those damn cliffracers are so annoying! Aside from them, I've had countless hours of fun with Morrowind. Took me longer than it should have to complete the main story, but there was just....so....many....distractions! I loved it!

What Morrowind messes up with unleveled monsters, it makes up for with "Amulets of Recalls"!

I've only played Oblivion and Skyrim so far, but I've heard that a lot of gamers who played Morrowind in their younger years were sort of traumatized by those cliff-racers :3
Anyway, how's the game ? Some people told me that, with a good graphical overhaul, it's better than its younger siblings.

Morrowind's a good game. It's harder in some aspects than Oblivion and Skyrim, because doesn't hold your hand as much. For instance: No magic compass to show you way points, rather you must navigate by following the directions quest givers tell you. As well, as enemies are not level-scaled to you, walking into the wrong place too early can get you killed easily. On the other hand, loot isn't scaled to you either, meaning if you grab powerful gear early, it will still be just as good for the entire game.
It should also be noted that the default difficulty is not Easy mode. so if you want to survive a bit longer make sure to check your options before going too far.
Anyway, if you get the chance I'd suggest at least trying it.

Yeah, I've heard of a mod for Skyrim called "Morrowloot" that allows you to get Daedric loot early on in the game.
I'll definitely give it a shot when I get a gaming computer.
