He's based off of an octopus, + 10 internet points if you know which kind of octopus!

Character's Name: Ragelio
Character's Age: 23
Character's Height: Five foot 11 inches
Character's Weight: 208 lbs
Character's Occupation: Kinght in training-(Squire)
Character's Special Skills: Camouflage, poison glands, expert on hylains(?), (and their habits), and traditional Zora fighting. He can also play the flute.

I wanting to make a Oceanic Zora that could be easily identifiable as tropical. Thus the colors and the choice of patterns.
He, Ragelio, is based off an octopus I saw as a child. Its was kinda blah..until the spots flared up! As a child, it was such a cool thing to see. It still is. To see an animal just change colors at the drop of a pin.

Thus, Ragelio has the ability to change his 'colors' if you will. Normally, He's a muted blue and white, with green fins and spots, easily blending in the seaweed and going fairly unnoticed. Its a harsh contrast to his pale body.
However, when he encounters a shark, an octo, or any other water monster, he flares up! His fins go orange, and his spots darken. Its also is a warning 'I'MMA POISONOUS!!!!1!1!one!!1'
The fish hook if from his childhood, when he got caught by a fisher off of a dock.
The other rings define his status as a guard. Three means he was a page, two means he's a squire, and one large rings signifies he's a true Knight and full adult of the Zora tribe. The anklet is a sign that he's parts of a certain tribe, and a certain family line. The spots of yellow are bioluminescent dots that he can contract and flare at will. They also act as decoys from predators during the night.

About his earring and meeting the fisherman: It was the first time he had heard of 'fishing' and it got him curious. Why couldn't the Hylain just jump in the ocean and catch the fish that way? Why use such messy hook and string and pole things? Ragelio didn't get it. His curiosity got him interested on the Hylain people as a whole now his claims to be an 'expert'.
In his studies, he saw a young man play a wind instrument. Curious, he wanted to learn more about this...ocirana. He managed to track down a trader in the Hylain town that sold him a flute, and after two days, Ragelio announced he had 'mastered' a hylain instrument.
Not that anyone cared. the Princess was still sad after all. He tried to cheer her up with his music, but, her heart was gone and dead with her love.
Eventually, he does become her consort/king, due to his skills in battle with the pirates, and his (eventual) proper knowledge of the hylian ways. He thinks it was the young boy who had given the princess back her hope all those years ago, and the story is passed down in the generations, eventually lost to the sea.

He fits into cannon with the fact that the Zora tribe of OoT and MM was rules by a patriarchal system, (ruled by a king) and the princess had not be married to her lover. She would have needed a king to her queen. He also fits in for the fact the zora of MM were kind of separated and anti-social from the Hylains. He would be chosen due not only to his skills in battle, but, for the fact he would slowly increase interactions with the hylains.

((On his Zora form, I use the TP zora type as it was the one I could reference most easily. It has NO relevance to his overall design.))
