Don't worry. It's friendly. Djuradha has birds, too. In fact, the many small civil wars caused by birds picking either side of the war is a problem all its own. But one that Robert doesn't get directly involved in.

I didn't actually have anything in mind when I drew the two looking at each other. More that Dolnerr was speaking, and Arlys cut his eyes over while listening. I suppose I could conjure up a story-relevant explanation, but there wasn't one originally.
Of course, of the whole squad, those two would be the quickest to draw some grim conclusions from the information being given them by Neoma. Who knows?

I love the little profile you’ve given each of these characters! Really makes them feel like a family of sorts

They'll be at the heart of an entire book, if I have anything to say about it. Robert has many memories of the Western War, not many of them pleasant, some of them painful. A few of them that he would gratefully forget if he could. But he remembers his Squad with fondness. Great and Perilous were they. They will march ever on in his memories, heedless of time. Heedless of any distance that may have grown between the paths they walk.
