you were right, it is a nice piece. I like your coloured pencil work too. it reminds me of some oil paintings i've seen.

How'd you prevent the wax buildup? I hate using colored pencils SO much. :/

I had some build up but not to bad. I just limited how many layers I did and knew what colors to use. However, I think you might be thinking about workablity and that is solved easily enough by burnishing the color pencil with a Q-tip which removes the waxy layer and allows you to work on it some more. Dabbing tape over the surface also helps remove that build up.

Any tape would really work because you just dab it repeatedly. Scotch tape works but so does artist tape. Usually what I do is wrap the tape sticky side out around my finger. This also is a great way to clean up your paper from shavings or eraser bits. The Q-Tip method is pretty simple in which you just burnish the area with the swab. This will lighten the color but it removes a majority of the wax and allows you to place down some more.
