Description Full title was supposed to be "Do androids dream of electric pandas?", but deviantart won't allow me to enter a name that long into the title box.

Anywho, this was done for 's Magical Girl contest. I chose her character Aya because she was a creepy little mute girl, and I love creepy little girls.

For those of you looking at this and asking yourself "What the hell?," here's a little explanation of the piece...
The Magical Girl alter ego I chose was "Cybernetic Healer Invoker." Obviously, Aya is an android in this. Much of this was heavily influenced by H.R. Giger, Philip K. Dick, and George Orwell.

The setting- Post apocalyptic Earth- toxic snow covers the planet in the wake of a nuclear winter. Aya is an android that served as a first aid bot during the war. Now, with the aid of her terrifying spy-bots and her injector-gun packed full o' nanomachines, she scours the earth in search of survivors. To date, she has found nothing except for her little red panda, Sheldon.

Now, if any of you have read "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep" or seen "Blade Runner," you might already know where I'm going with Sheldon... Even before the war, animals were a scarce thing on Earth, and the only ones left alive were kept in zoos or as pets. All of their natural environments had been destroyed by sprawling human development. To keep things "cheery" people began manufacturing electric animals that looked and acted just like real animals. So the question I'm eluding to is whether or not Sheldon is real or electric. Well, what do you think?

So yeah, in summary-
-cybernetic- she's an android, duh.
-healer- she sticks people with her crazy needle and pumps them full of tissue healing nanomachinery.
-invoker- the terrifying camera spy-bots that follow her around.

Thank you so much! This was my first (and only so far) attempt at the whole steampunk genre. I think it's a tad generic, but oh well, you have to start somewhere!

Your gallery is just so strange! (in a good way of course!) Hope to see more from you aswell

Oh, very interesting. I like the pseudo-hominid form for Aya you chose here. The hypodermic 'readout' on her left forearm - the heart-shaped window is a neat twist! *grin*

The warm fuzzy that is Sheldon in this piece is wonderfully contrasted with the rest of the work. Aya's eyes are also suitably surreal, as are her limbs.

The identical wiring on the eyes is a bit offputting, especially loosely gathered wire such as you have there. Was that intentional?

All in all - instafave. *grin* Nice work!

Thanks!

No the identical wiring was not done on purpose- (obviously) I just copy/pasted the same eyebot over and over again. I was hoping no one would notice! But now that someone has spotted my laziness, perhaps it's time I go back and rework things a little... Thanks for being honest!

Thanks for sharing the neat art! And you'll find that I'm like that - a lil obnoxious, but more honest than not. *wry grin*

Thank you for the kind comment! I hope to have my second one done sometime in March, but I still haven't even decided on a name yet, so it might be a while.

Have fun with all the entries
