Description I really should be redesigning my Ever After High fan character instead of drawing up a completely new one (although he's kind of a reincarnation of one that I deleted, sorta), but here you have him!

His name is Akito Takenaka, and as the title says he's the son of Kaguya-Hime from The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter . It's a rather beautiful (and sad) Japanese fairy tale about an old man who finds a tiny baby girl within a bamboo stock, and as he and his wife raise her and discover a nugget of gold for each bamboo reed they cut down, she grows into a beautiful (and normal-sized) young woman. In a nutshell however, it turns out that, after many rejected suitors (including the Emperor himself!), that she was sent down to earth from her birthplace in Tsuki-no-Miyako (the moon-capital) and that she, being its princess, must return home with the other moon-people (the golden nuggets were payment for taking care of her).

Eventually her celestial entourage takes her back to the moon, but not before being given a feathery robe that causes her to forget her earthly memories, leaving her parents in tears and the Emporer deeply saddened. Because nobody other than the next Snow White is allowed to have a 100% Happily Ever After, apparantly. Either way though, I've seen very few Kaguya-Hime kids and I've yet to see a son, so I thought I might as well be the first. o3o

His way of dress is more casual than your average EAH prince since I figured that he would live with another old couple/bamboo-cutter, so he's not exactly surrounded by royalty (maybe they took the pledge before he was born, sometime after Kaguya left earth?). If you look closely though, you might notice a simple circlet/diadem poking between his bangs and the side of his head showing a full and half-moon (his adoptive parents are being paid in gold, so it wouldn't be too pricey for them). The lunar cycle motif can also be seen from the chain hanging from his shorts as well as the haramaki under his shirt. It's kinda like a belly-warmer of sorts, but it can be worn as a fashion statement: [link]

I could go on on some of the other details in his outfit - for example, there are motifs pertaining to the 5 Impossible Tasks that Kaguya-Hime gives to each of her suitors. ^^ I really love how the sketch has turned out, and I can't get over the spot-on perspective of the bamboo staff of he's holding, dayum. *'*

And if your curious, this is how he originally (sorta) looked like [link]  he had a different fairy tale (well, it wasn't really one tbh) and name once upon a time, but I totally scrapped that because reasons. Actually I don't really think they're the same characters at all outside of superficial differences, and I'm completely fine with that. And whoever isn't I don't really care, because this is my OC and I'm never letting anyone's feelings over what I should do or have done with MY OC affect that, dammit..

Why thank you! I've gone a long way from where I've started, so I'm pretty proud of how he's turning out. :3
