Description
Having been cooped up in Sanctum for the majority of their childhood, Psyche's three little bears are eager to leave the nest and stretch their growing legs. One wolf in particular captures young Rusalka's intrigue: an afflicted known as Adel. They have all heard the rumors of his magic, and curious Sally would like to have a look. Bringing her siblings along, the young pup makes her bold approach, asking the Prime for a demonstration. Though Adel tries to deter the inquisitive trio, his frayed nerves render him helpless against The Rot's cruel nature. Unable to gain control of his emotions, Adel's magic lashes out at the source of his anxiety. Unlike her siblings, Orsolya is not equipped with the reflexes needed to evade the foul-smelling tendrils spreading from Adel's cursed paws. Touched by its malevolent power, Olya is helpless to fight against its dark influence. Her siblings -- and Adel -- can only watch in horror as she succumbs to the black.
Shaken from his recent magical outburst brought on by the surge, Adel is wrought with anxiety and unable to contain his ability's destructive nature. After the rot is set upon a young wolfling just outside Sanctum, the afflicted is taken to an isolated chamber within the confines of the mighty cavern. There, the acolytes attempt to help him regain control over himself and his affliction. They reach the conclusion that Adel will never be able to achieve absolute command of his magic, and therefore, will always present a threat when his emotions are not in check. It is decided that, unlike other Afflicted Primes who have gained complete control over their magic, Adel will need to remain under the continued observation of his acolyte, never regaining the freedoms and independence of a natural wolf until a cure is found.
