Which convention are you going to try and attend to? I'm going to Sakura-con this year.

Idk, i gotta check 'em out... but Sakura-con looks good, or the Indianapolis one... I'm looking for one in the Midwest, close to home, y'know?

Well Sakura-con is in Seattle (on the western side of Washington state), so if you want a Midwest convention Sakura-con isn't the one...

It's definitely a great convention to consider for the future if you ever do any traveling though! Last year over 14,000 people came to Sakura-con.

I don't like sunlight either, that's why I choose to work for a job that is during the graveyard shift. I don't like rain because I don't like getting wet, although I do like to sleep through rain storms. But Seattle gets WAY too much rain for my taste... that's why there's a ton of rainforests over in Seattle.

Thunderstorms are rare in my area, the whole eastern side of Washington state is like a desert so we rarely even see rain for that matter. Over the mountains on the western side of the state they get a ton of rain and nasty ocean storms.
I don't remember the last time I've slept through a thunderstorm because we don't get those during the day and I sleep during the daytime only. Although I'm not afraid of thunder, I hate storms like that because I'm usually at work and I hate it when the power goes out on me... I work in a haunted movie theater and that's the last place I want to be when the power goes out...

I actually have a ton of ghost stories about my work place. The theater is one of three certified haunted places in my town. But what's really annoying is that the ghosts don't start doing things until there's 3 or fewer people in the building... they especially get active if you're alone.
The constantly move things around, slam doors, run through hallways and talk. Last time they were messing with me was when I was upstairs cleaning the bathroom sink. I heard heavy foot steps outside of the restroom running by at full speed and then they slammed the closet door with full force. Scared the living crap out of me! I know it was a ghost because my mom was the only other person there (she's my partner) and I saw her using the vacuum down stairs. She didn't know what had happened though because she had headphones on. We frequently blast music after hours to block out ghost noises, but it's never enough.

My mom and I both work as janitors at the movie theater. I've been working there for nearly 3 years and I helped her get a job there about 2 years ago. We are both night people so we really like the job.
Only like a month after she joined she had her first ghost experience too. It was a biggie!
We both had finished our duties for the night and went up stairs to go to the restroom before going home. We sat down on the bench to get our stuff together and then we heard laughter only inches behind her right shoulder... It could have been a child or a woman laughing, we aren't sure. But it was definitely laughing at us!

It's extremely scary, but not sweet at all when you've had as many ghost experiences as me... The ghosts don't hurt anyone and they never show themselves, but I still don't like them messing with us. In the main part of the building the ghosts seem to like playing pranks out there. But in the storage room, there's an very ominous feeling back there... it's not good.

Nothing ever happens in the storage room, but you can feel that it's there. It feels like a looming presence that really wants you to leave. It's an awful feeling for that matter... it feels like something heavy on your shoulders, watching, growing increasingly irritated that you're still there. I'm glad it hasn't done anything yet, because I'm sure it would do something bad.

It's a good job though, I like the work, the hours and the benefits. The only problem is the ghosts, but they can be ignored most of the time. At least I don't have to clean the projection rooms! That's where the most ghost activity takes place. You can hear conversations coming from up there if you're really quiet... many of the employees who work up there have to carry around walkie talkies and occasionally the ghosts talk to them through the walkie talkies. Very strange stuff happens up there.

whoah, that'd be weird. To be talking to someone, and then have some dead person pick up on the conversation... weird.

Jagarnot In reply to odakishimoto31 [2009-02-06 03:09:40 +0000 UTC]
Well it's more like the line is quiet and then suddenly you hear faint voices talking. The person with the walkie talkie will come down stairs and ask everyone else what they had said and they all say that they didn't touch the walkie talkie.

I can't say for sure about the walkie talkies since I wasn't there, but the people who told me were really close friends and we don't joke about our ghost problem. We're all scared shitless by it!
But everything else I've mentioned I am 100% sure of because it happened to me.

Yeah, they thought it was creepy. You only feel that when you're alone though, I told them to go in alone but they were too scared to do it. I think they might have felt that something was there and didn't want to be alone.
Often when my fellow employees have to go back there to get concession supplies, they grab me so they don't have to go alone. I don't blame them.
