I know that the Image is too high but I couldn’t bring myself to crop any more of it.

Cropping this image for height would have ruined it. Great shot!

Thank you Christina. I agree. I may try it again with a wider angle lens but as shot there was nothing else that I could have done.

I think this one looks great. I wish I had a wider angle... my widest is 18mm on a nikon which equates to 27mm.... just can't afford that 8mm which is still only 12mm on the Nikon.

I've only tried night/astrology photography once and that was last August during the meteor. It was a bad experience on two fronts, one I didn't get anything worth looking at, and I had recently had minor surgery so I was trying to skip pain meds to go out and shoot. LOL But I should try it again... someone once said something about practice...

Anyway... I think the composition of this one is spot on, you have my envy

Yep, keep trying you can do it. Go head that your meds next time.

Yeah... somehow taking vicodin and then driving into the mountains isn't always such a good idea. lol Hopefully next time I won't need the pain meds.

No, it's not too high. Not unless the sky is too high!

Maybe you should have left it uncropped! I'm sure it's amazing.

Great shot! What star is at the center of your Image(I'm assuming north, but you know what they!) How long was your exposure! I see light on the horizon to the right of your image.

Thank you Frank
The only star that will show that effect in this hemisphere is Polaris (the North Star).
ISO 400, F/8 for 17 minutes. This was just the most successful so far I’m still working on this concept.
