Description Following the Iolair in the "Welcome Series," the Allegheny publicity still. Some funky things went on with these renders, not totally sure what to say about them. And also, Vandiana Platin is now one of my favorite fonts.

Β She doesn't really look a lot more advanced than the Danube she is supposed to replace. Still, I'm adding the Allegheny to my own personal canon not-the-less.

Β I've been thinking of my own design for a Danube replacement for a while, but have never really finished anything worth posting.

It's the innards that count.

To have an NX designation with such a long contract number implies Starfleet has been going craphouse crazy on the design front!

Well, you know, the Defiant was NX-74205, so about 20 or 30 years after that, with starships being built all the time, I don't think it's all too outrageous.Β  Though, I wouldn't mind seeing that many starship designs...haha

Actually, after the Dominion War, they probably did.

Is there a mountain-range theme to the naming of craft in this class?

It's actually the Allegheny River, the one that flows into Pittsburgh (my adopted home).Β  There'll also be the Monongahela, the Ohio, the Youghiogheny (yock-a-gain-ee), etc.Β  Mostly Pennsylvanian rivers, I'll admit...haha

Thank you!Β  I'd like to go back and refine the mesh itself, maybe change a few details, but I'm generally alright with how the shape turned out.

Any chance you could release this as a mesh for DAZ or Blender?

especially like the texturing in the bussard caps!

Thanks haha I can't really take credit for the texture itself. I recolored it but it's based off of one from an old Sovereign mesh that was floating about. I typically don't do textures myself, to be honest.

Well thanks, I'm glad you like it. It'll show up now and then in some of my pieces, I'm sure. Not as often as the Avenger, but it'll have its share probably.
