Description Soviet troop: Ready your weapons!
Now! Go!

Soviet soldiers: Huuuuuurraaaaaaah!

German machinegunner: Good God, not again!
Loader: Fire, you idiot, or we won't live the next time it happens!

Machinegunner: And it starts all over again...

...

Finally, I've managed to finish the fifth page of the comic. Drawings not as kick-ass as I expected, but I'm satisified with the Soviet zerg tactics image.

...

Some unsorted pencils used for sketch, shading made with my beloved 4B.

Enjoy!
Tom.

Very nice, the joy of meatshields. And the good ol' MG-34. I used to know an Austrian guy who graduated from an SS academy right as the war ended, he hadn't recieved the tattoo yet, and he didn't want to surrended to the Soviets, so he just walked home. On the way back, he found an MG-42, being a 16 year old, he loaded it up, went prone, then opened fire on a tree. He was pushed 10 feet backwards before he stopped shooting. Then some Soviet cavalry rode up, and he hid. He told me that he had trained a rifle he found with the MG on them, and was waiting for them to so much as look his way before he shot them, in the end they didn't notice him and just rode away.

No problem. Another one he told me was after he reached Vienna. He was walking home from work, when he heard screaming in English and Russian, tow Americans were arguing with two Soviets. The Soviets grinned at the Americans and said "After we are finished killing these Fascist dogs, we will come and kill all of you Americans too." Then they made some joke about American women liking Russian dick. The Americans looked at each other, looked at the Soviets, looked back at each other, then pulled out their .45s and blew the two Soviets away.

Poor germans, their stuck with an MG34 instead of the MG42

JanBoruta In reply to KodyYoung [2006-12-16 08:24:40 +0000 UTC]

Don't say anything, MG34 was still a good weapon

KodyYoung In reply to JanBoruta [2006-12-16 17:53:48 +0000 UTC]

Yes it is, but I would perfer the MG42 at the moment, since I would be able to get rid of a lot of them faster

Yes. Not "kick ass" persons but great atmosphere and overall good looking! Thats advantage of comics: you dont have to draw it perfectly and still it have some magic in it...

I like it Jan!

MG 34 and PPsh all in one comic page

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

JanBoruta In reply to SimonLMoore [2006-12-16 08:11:31 +0000 UTC]

No PPSh, only PPD 40's

I wasn't sure if MG42's were there in the end of 1941, so I used an MG34, often omitted in the media yet it was still important in first two years of the war.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SimonLMoore In reply to JanBoruta [2006-12-16 08:55:28 +0000 UTC]

Oh yeah, my mistake, it is clear that they're PPD 40s on full view.

Indeed the MG34 was used as a commander's machine gun on german AFVs right through the war.

Dopiero startują, to wolno idą

Myślałem o komiksie o Monte Cassino, ale temu raczej poświęcę osobny, "poważny" rysunek.
