Description Original shot taken in the Hunter Valley, NSW. A couple of modern buildings removed and a bit of tweaking and grunging!

Yes. It's also suggestive of idyllic rural life. Which is another meaning of "bucolic" and what I meant by my comment.

I almost want this to be in sepia or at least more decolourised to resemble one of those recoloured black and whiters. The only other thing would be to really deepen the reds, almost unnaturally. But then, thats a very commercial thing (though I could expect to see this on a brochure or something)

Jane, I think your work is top notch

It's funny you should say that because I did consider a more sepia version with the roses in a vibrant red. In the end there were about four different versions of this image that I considered viable! But I'm trying to be decisive so I stuck to one only!!

Thanks so much for your comment and support.

Splendid work! I love the soft palette who gives a special atmosphere.

Thanks! Actually I tied myself in knots trying to decide whether to go softer in the colours or go for the super saturated look. The original shot was quite saturated because it was overcast but I decided the softer look suited the old buildings better.

Thanks. It was such an amazing spot...on top of a hill with sweeping 360 degree views of the Hunter Valley. Could have happily set up camp there on a more permanent basis with a glass of fine wine in one hand and some gourmet cheese in the other! lol
