For all those who baaawwww whenever a wolf is shot, think about the alternative. If we allow the wolf population to grow uncontrolled, there will be more wolves around than there is food for them. Without enough food, wolves will begin to starve. And unless the food supply undergoes a sudden miraculous increase, the starving wolves will die. And death from starvation is unpleasant. Basically, the wolves will get weaker while their bodies slowly shut down from lack of nutrients. This can take several days or even weeks. In contrast, a well-aimed shot from a skilled hunter can send a wolf out of the living realm in a matter of seconds. And yet wolfaboos apparently think hunting is bad simply because it's done by humans. Apparently, human intervention in nature is bad even if it's to prevent something really bad, like starvation.
