I do not own Portal or any of the characters. I am just an insignificant insect that is just a fan. All characters belong to Β©Valve CorporationSeems that poor Wheatley didn't appreciate the joke at all... He seems to get a bit sensitive to things like that... Guess he decided to go pout in one of the chambers.
Well seems that Chell is coming to see him.
Alright I am still practicing on how to color in comics...I tried using the brush tool & on pencil setting...& I do NOT like it. It came out so blocky. I got fustrated more so than when I shade with Manga... so I had to blend like hell & tweak like forever...then I just threw up my hands in fustration & just put on an oil setting. I am not a fan on this but after all the work I decided to put it up...
I will try coloring it a different on the next page. I am doing this as practice for the fan-comic I have in mind for PORTAL.
I also did some more adjustments in Wheatley's robot body. I wanted it to be more practical & at the same time, look more awkward.
I call it the dragon spine effect. I make him look more snake like with longer arms.... I wanted him to look goofy when he was being silly but intimidating when he is in battle mode.
As for Chell, she can make sounds, since I hard sounds in the game as when Chell was falling or getting hurt... so I have her making little sounds....
Still hitting up the whole sign language theme...

I'm a bit curious, and you probably get this alot, but Chell normally has a ponytail, I kind of imagine her hair as longer, what inspired you to shorten it like you did?

well I have seen in episodes of certain characters that after surviving a traumatic event or something that had deeply troubled them, that many woman would cut off their hair...the deeper the trouble, the shorter the cut. In Empire Records, a female character had gone through a horrible breakup & had to still work with her ex....she then just cut off her hair.
In other films, women who had survived or gotten through an ordeal would chop their locks off as like a physical sign of starting over.
I myself had radically chopped my locks, not just in bad times but in good times. I chopped my locks when I wanted to be in the beach more. I didn't care who I looked to who, as long as my hair didn't tangled in my mask or go in my eyes when I surfed. When I did some hardcore training I cut off my hair so I didn't have to spend time on my hair when I had little time to myself as it was.
Also in GI Jane, she did it so she could be a better team member with her fellow SEALS.... which they forgot she was a girl at times & started to respect the fact she was willing to go the distance. Cutting hair in women always represent something dynamic.

Alright, I guess that makes sense, and it's valuable information as well, so thank you. Guys in general don't put so much focus on hair, I mean there's a notable percentage that do, but they're the exception.
Men on average, after dealing with something that truly nerve-wracking, tend to hold themselves a bit differently. See, we don't deal so much on the outward appearance as the inward struggle. It's easy to tell when a guy is dealing with something that's actually bothering them, as opposed to them "saying it's bothering them" to get attention, there's incredibly subtle hints to take note of.
Those that are dealing with something tend to take one of two different methods, based somewhat around introversion and extroversion. The introverts tend to hold themselves as small, so by default look down, hold their shoulders in a bit, and walk a bit quicker. This however sometimes makes them a target, so to compensate they 'attempt' to hold their head up, and hold their eyes a bit more open, as to seem as though nothing is the issue, but really it's plastered all over their faces. The extroversion is to become stronger, as to properly deal with their issues, they lash out, become aggressive, and generally take on the 'rowdy' persona, but there's tiny hints that this isn't truly how they are, for starters they pick fights that make no sense, and tend to be somewhat more angry then is justified.
Myself I've taken a bit of introverted stance, not solely because I'm dealing, but I guess in general due to the fact that I'm socially awkward, lol.
In reality there's millions of subtle configurations for how men deal with emotions, since it's a bit of a social taboo to be open about it for us., but I've been rambling, I'm sorry.

Awww! I love how expressive and affectionate Chell seems in this! People normally portray her as this stoic, unemotional character, and that's how I'm used to seeing her, but I like seeing this side of her as well. It's sweet the way she tries to comfort Wheatley.
