This is just a personal speed painting insight on Link during his adventures. Having the responsibilities of the world on one's shoulder alone is enough to send anyone to spiral into some heavy negative feelings.
This is perhaps a side of him that Nintendo doesn't want us to see, eh?

A beautiful, dark and gloom piece, it does display a whole other side of the adventures we all love.
Being everyone's hero can't be easy on such a young boy, I feel genuinely sorry for him now.

I am a personal believer in the theory that OOT link married Malon, and I always thought it was intresting that she had no HUGE relevance to the plot. After Majoras mask, when Link no matter how hard he tried could never solve any problems in the end... I can't even imagine the depression he must have went through.

I wonder about this all the time, actually. Not just Link, but other characters too, in video games, movies and books. But yeah, for Link you gotta decide on it yourself.

I started looking through your gallery and I have noticed something, you are seriously amazing. You manage to capture a wide range of emotion with cutting accuracy. This piece really emphasizes that Link is really just a kid. Even older Link appears to be only 22. I especially like Navi's placement and how she sets a tone of her own. It seems like she's trying to comfort the boy or at least encourage him; It doesn't seem to be working though.
I'm gonna go stalk your art some more and watch you after I fav this.

I definitely agree that we don't really get to see Link's side of how he would truly feel having the world suddenly becoming one of his responsibilities. The poor guy never has a choice.

Wow! You made this in GIMP! Everything that I color in GIMP always looks like it came out of MS paint... I tried some tutorials, but I couldn't understand them...

What tutorials do you look at? I look at Photoshop ones to help me with Gimp since they are kind of the same in terms of drawing.
Plus there aren't many good Gimp tutorials out there.

They're not exactly the same, but in terms of drawing with the paintbrush and airbrush tool, they do follow the same formula.

When I see this piece, I picture that something just went bad in Link's life and that he's upset about it so he went somewhere to pout. Perhaps he just got his butt kicked or something. Link's posture, his facial expression and the background all suggest that life is not going good right now and it doesn't look like its going to get better. Great job. I love it.

I tend to be broody on occasion, but that would magnify tenfold if I were in Link's position. This is very well done. You can't help but wonder what he's thinking.

Beautiful. You're right, given how his games usually go, he would probably brood a lot. How could you not be on edge, depressed and suffering, when the world looks to you, usually just a boy at the time. Having to face terrifying enemies with few friends to rely on and having no one that can help in a pinch. Usually no real training before getting started, that has to come along the way. It would be hell, far from home, so many questions unanswered... Poor link. (sorry, I kind of rambled) I think your picture captures these dark feelings well. ^_^
