I'm pretty sure that the style and look can be done traditionally as well. It looks to me like it would contain an under-layer of brights acrylics and then polished and detailed off with oil paints.

EPONA'S ARMOR IS AWESOME!!!!!! link looks just plane smexy. *sigh* every time when i look at epona its not the same....old fashioned epona was a really read colored horse with black legs, black snout, white stripe on her face, black tips on the and ears. Now it's different. *sigh* all well.....
