Enchantress was slipping she felt it deep inside.
The clawing, tearing, gnawing...it never seemed to end. Why her? What had she done to deserve this?
The voices promised so much...so much...
Never quiet they drove her mad day in and day out. Why would they not be silent?! Why did they torment her so?!
She couldn't take it! No more! No more!

Sleep was impossible.
Eating was impossible.
Breathing was impossible...
Living was impossible...

Everything she did from the minor act of decided to walk around the park today or staying home to read caused the voices to argue and bicker. They were never satisfied.
"Why would you want to go outside?" One might ask. "It's so hot, so bright. It'll just cause you to much pain. Best to stay inside."
The other would then argue "But staying inside? Be a recluse? Your friends would leave you if you never left. Although I am not sure they cared in the first place."

Back and forth.
Back and forth.
Never seeming to end.

Maybe...
Maybe they were right.

Enchantress found herself holding one of the large kitchen knives in her hoof.
Maybe...
Just maybe...

She shook her head and threw the knife on the ground and backed away.
No.
No this wasn't the answer. It would never be.

Enchantress bit her lip. She needed to find Fang. She needed help.
Maybe if she finally took the medication she would feel better
Maybe the voices would go away.
Maybe she could be normal.
Yes...normal would be good.
She wanted to be normal...

"What's with the long face?" The voice was so familiar it was almost a part of her. "Why would you want to silence us?"

Enchantress had the answer but couldn't force it out.

Her hooves of her own accord led her to a mirror and she stood there staring. Seeming unable to put her thoughts into words. Or atleast into anything that made the least bit of sense.

A hoof grey as death wrapped around her neck loosely holding the knife she had dropped. "Come now. Can you not give us a smile."
A second hoof of the same monotone color wrapped around her face to cover her mouth. The hoof with the knife came over and carved a crude smile into the flesh. Enchantress flinched as if it was her own skin being cut into. But of course that wouldn't be possible...she hadn't hurt herself in so long...She was a good girl...she wouldn't do that..

A grey face framed with long hair similar to Enchantress's in all but color framed a pair of sly crimson eyes. She was smiling in a cold but friendly manner.

"You have such a beautiful smile...you need to show it off more."

Enchantress felt her vision go blurry and she lost all cognitive thought...

Chaos shook her head as if to clear it. She frowned as she found herself face to face with the mirror. Her eyes remained the same crimson color but her coat was a butter yellow and her hair a bright green. This wouldn't do at all..

With a flick of her magic she watched as the hair went from green to red and her coat seemed to drain of all color.
Much better...

Chaos looked down at the half circle cut in her forearm. She would need to patch that up before anyone noticed...

She smiled wickedly as she trotted away from the mirror.

"Sweet dreams Enchantress...you will never be rid of me..."

EXPLANATION:

Enchantress suffers from a split personality disorder topped with rather bad Schizophrenia.
She has several voices in her head she is suppose to take medicine to suppress but doesn't. (She is an alchemist so doesn't trust anything she doesn't make. Also she dislikes "scientific" medicine seeing it as poison.)
In the past to try and make them go away she would hurt herself. Never enough to kill her / maim her but enough to scare her husband Fang. After about the 5th time Fang had enough and threatened to leave her if she didn't stop. The thought of losing Fang was worse than that of hearing the voices so she did.
Chaos / Chaotic Darkness is her secondary (and most active -not counting Enchantress- of her 3 personalities) personality and although she seems bad has good intentions but will manipulate Enchantress at times so she won't be forced away.
It is known that when Chaos is in control Enchantress ends up hurting herself or others for unknown reasons. This is because Chaos is "protective" of Enchantress but at the same time despises her. She is not so much evil but angered she is trapped in Enchantress's mind.
