Sam and Friends, Jim Henson's original Muppet characters, return with a proposition for Jim's son, Brian.I'm a huge Muppet fan, and I felt that Sam and Friends has been long overlooked, and is equally long overdue for a comeback.

While I know it's kind of wrong to nitpick at your familiarity with Muppet lore, I'm gonna do it anyway--Wilkins and Wontkins weren't on Sam and Friends. They're commercial characters, developed exclusively for Wilkins coffee ads.
Also, why does Yorick have a body?
That said, this is a fun piece and it made me chuckle.

I understand where you're coming from. But I wasn't trying to suggest that Wilkins and Wontkins were on Sam and Friends. I was just showing that they were part of Jim's original body of Muppet characters. As for Yorick's body, I always felt it was suggested that there was something under that black mass, but it's certainly up to the individual fan to determine for themselves.

So Wilkins and Wontkins have been acclimated into the Sam and Friends gang? Now that Kermit's such a big star, I guess they needed someone to fill his niche.
Sadly, according to Muppet Wiki and some other sites, most of Sam and Friends no longer exists (because most of the episodes aired live and were never filmed or recorded on tape)

Gaaaahah!!! The look on Brian's face is priceless. And great scott, how can u be SO GOOD at drawing these characters?? They are perfect! I always thought of drawing puppets as a sort of challenge, because when they move, they show their expressions. But here, you've shown them as puppets with fantastic range of emotion.

Thanks for ALL your kind comments re: my Muppet 'toons. My trick is to take the core elements of each character's design and then to filter it through my own style. That means subtracting any unnecessary elements when needed and possibly added some small ones too. Whatever works. I know it sounds simplistic, but that's my formula!

Why am I just NOW discovering you and your work? An excellent piece, and as a fan of the works of Jim Henson Productions, it does strike me that the Sam and Friends characters (which, at last check, aren't owned by the Muppet Holdings Company [read: Disney]) aren't around nor known by many fans.
