Quite excellent! I'll keep this as reference, since I have a hard time finding what to do for feathers, hair, etc.

I noticed while looking at the blue and yellow combination:
Blue + yellow = green
So I'm gonna go test if the same goes for yellow and red for orange shading, and maybe even blue and red for purple shading.
*10 MINUTES LATER.*
It worked for yellow + red =orange very well, and slightly worse for red + blue = purple.
Note: In red + blue = purple, Β light red = pink and pink can be blended with purple easily
~BECAUSE I HAVE TIME TO EXPERIMENT WITH THINGS~

Then practice! x3 Try lots of different methods, and do it often, and you will succeed where you think you currently fail. <3 That's the best advice I can give you.

Hey man, i found all ur artworks sublime, can i take some of them to put in a prototype of a indiegame enterprise here? Ill put all the credits of your work of course!

JaziSnake In reply to ShardRaldevius [2011-10-06 00:57:30 +0000 UTC]
Please do not. Nearly all of the art I post here is being used by one site or another, and most of them have paid me in some way for them. The art that's not are personal dabblings and gifts for friends. If you'd like to hire me as an artist that would be fine, but please don't use anything currently uploaded.

That is, the highlight on the underside should be a lighter tint of the base color.* I was thinking of your green orbs when I wrote "green" in the original comment. XD Sorry.

TheBrassGlass [2011-07-27 00:59:20 +0000 UTC]
Nice tutorial. I don't like the shading with highlights on both sides, however. It's too much; real objects will have a bit of reflected light on the underside, but it wouldn't be as intense as the highlight on the side with the direct light. I'd recommend a lighter green rather than a white for a highlight on the underside of your pixellated forms. It would be more realistic still. Just a thought.
