Kaflons great grandfather was a Master engineer of the Squat stronghold of Kurdurz. He was on the other side of imperial space with his wife, working with the adeptus mechanicus, teaching young tech priests when a tyranid hive fleet wiped out most of the squat homeworlds. Frustrated at the Imperiums inability to do anything he left the adeptus mechanicus school and with his wife took up a living as a mechanic, working outside imperial space.

Kaflon has been all over the galaxy in his three hundred and fifty years of life. He met Ulanti Sobek in a bar on a nearly abandoned mining colony in the outer reaches of space. Ulanti had been looking for a mechanic to help do repairs on his ship and on the warbands gun servitor Grex 162.

Wanting to get off the colony and do a little more adventuring for profit Kaflon struck a deal with the Rouge trader, In return for repairs on the ship and on Grex Ulanti would allow Him to have 10% of all profits made by Ulanti, travel with them until he wished to leave and to also make sure the ship had a constant supply of alcohol and pipe weed. Ulanti agreed happily.

Kaflon now works with his cy-ape Barry on the ship and Grex 162, happily grumbling away about "How things used to be" and "Back in the old days..." with bits of "Typical human technology" and "Leave it to a squat".

However, as kind as he is, if he is forced to fight or is insulted, he can be devastating in combat. A brilliant shot and brutal in a melee with his wrench. He harbours a deep resentment of the imperium and their almost flat out denial of his races existence. He is not someone to be trifled with. But instead, one to be respected. Slowly, he is piecing his ancestors old suit of exo armiour back together.

I love the background about these fellows, despite games workshops saddening attitude towards them. Ill support em and ill be damn proud!

The squats were a race of space dwarves from the first and second editions of warhammer 40,000. But games workshop decided they didnt like them and have pretty much disowned them. To hell with that! WELCOME TO THE TEAM KAF!
