If I have one complaint about Wreck-It Ralph, it's that we never really get to know the Sugar Rush kids all that well, aside from Taffyta. It makes sense, story-wise - the movie's told from Ralph and Vanellope's point of view, and for most of the story, Vanellope is the outsider who none of the kids want to spend any time with. But all of them got full biographies on the Disney website, and their personalities seem really interesting to me. Minty's the resourceful quick-thinker, Snowanna's the music lover, Crumbelina's the fashion plate, Gloyd is the merry prankster, Swizzle is the risk-taking adventurer, Rancis is the pretty boy, Candlehead's the ditz, Jubileena's full of cheer, and Adorabeezle's the sporty one. There's a lot of stories you could tell with these kids - all the more reason I'd love to see a sequel or a spin-off TV series or something.

Cute work on all of them! ย I do find it odd that they went through the effort of giving all of the racers bios and personalities but did not give them any screen time to show it. ย I would love to see their characters fleshed out more.

It makes sense, from a storytelling perspective. From Vanellope's point of view, they're all just bullies up until the final scene. But we got hints of it here and there, like Rancis checking himself out in his rearview mirror, or Swizzle's graffiti on the wall in the power cord terminal. That's what I loved, that they considered every detail when they made this movie.
Unfortunately, that's one of my many many problems with the sequel - I thought for sure we were gonna get to see more character development for the racers as they were shacked up with Felix and Calhoun. They introduced that subplot and then did literally nothing with it. Boo.

If it's just based on these characters and no one else then I think the Sugar Rush Racer's would be a good title.ย

That's assuming there is a second Wreck-It Ralph movie in the first place. Fans have been chattering about it for almost two years now, but realistically, I don't think it's going to happen. Disney just doesn't do sequels to their animated films anymore, direct-to-DVD or otherwise.
The most we can hope for is a series of shorts, in the same vein as what Pixar did for Cars and Toy Story. But I think if Disney had any intention of doing that, it would have happened by now. Sad as it is, they seem content to just sweep Wreck-It Ralph under the rug and move on, especially now that Frozen has turned in their biggest money maker. They wouldn't take any more chances on following up to a niche movie like this when Anna and Elsa are so much more profitable.

I first caught wind of it during an episode of Made in Hollywood about them speaking on the movie, but it was also in one of the journals in the :iconwreck-it-raplh-fans: group.

That journal was months ago, though - nothing else has been mentioned since then. And all it confirmed was that Rich Moore and Phil Johnston had a story in the works. Writing a story and getting a sequel greenlit are two very different things in Hollywood.
Until Disney officially announces a sequel with a release date and everything, I'm not inclined to believe it. And I really don't think they will. Out of 53 movies in the Disney animated canon, they've only done three theatrical sequels, and two of them, Fantasia 2000 and Winnie the Pooh, were for films that are bona fide classics that stood the test of time for years before they followed up on them. Knowing what I know about Disney, I honestly can't see them ever doing a sequel to a movie like Wreck-It Ralph.
