Or more precicely; Velociraptor mongoliensis and Protoceratops andrewsi. The scene is Late Cretaceous Mongolia.[link] - the famous "fighting dinosaurs" fossil.

You have sure made the protoceratops a nasty looking little beggar. I can see how it could be bittey enough to munch up a velociraptor. Most of the reconstruction of protoceratops that I have seen seem to make them seem small and sluggish and not particularly exciting. Hats off to you!

I don't remember the exact pencils I was using, but they were probably 3B, maybe 4B -- the paper was A2.

It is rather bakkerian, now I look at. At the time I drew it I suppose I would have thought Veliciraptor the aggresor, now I'm not so sure.

I know that exaggerating predatory dinosaurs and making them into JP-style movie monsters is inaccurate, but didn't velociraptor at least have larger killing claws?

yes they did. the only reason for the supersize is steven spielberd thought it was too small to scare anyone, so he supersized it.

No, I think they're about right. Deinonychus had larger claws.
