This young grasshoppa stayed very still for me as I snapped over 200 pictures of him O.oHow did I take this:
Well I don't have a macro lens, I used a Vivitar 28-105mm lens, In order to get a super duper macro shot like this just take the lens off the camera... turn it around, and hold it to the body backwards (yes i'm serious)... The camera won't know that it's there so switch the manual, set up the shutter speed, and make sure the aperture is as wide as it can be on the lens.

Grasshoppers scare the hell out of me!!!!!!
I used to love bugs as a kid - played with them, handled them, brought them in to show my mom.... Until one day when I went up to see a HUGE grasshopper. The damned thing flew at my face! I had never seen them fly before and it scared the hell out of me! So traumatic.... so so traumatic ... LOL!!!!

A giant one? They're pretty big, about the size of your palm. We did That, Frogs, Bull Testicles (mmm), Something's Ovary (don't remember what), and a sheep's eye... That one squirted
