Our veins.
Our pores.
Our skin,
Breathes.

Materials and Methods
Nikon D80 + Tamron 90mm F2.8 + SB-600. Skeleton leaf from bag of potpourri. GIMP for post editing. Desaturated. Auto-levels. Darkened midtones to reveal more textures. Practicing using the new flash unit.

Additional Comments
Your skin has hairs. Your skin has pores. If it doesn't, then you must have a serious medical condition. But then why does the popular media tell us we should want to look like we have a serious medical condition?

Interesting/weird personal story: First week of college. This guy comes up to me after class and tells me that we're in almost all the same classes. We're walking to our next class together and talking along the way. He tells me he's an international student. I tell him I'm from around the area. He asks me if there are any good places to get food and a haircut. As we reach a point where we have to part and go our separate ways, he leans close to me and says quietly, "You have hair on your face." And walks away. I pause for awhile to process what he had just said. It still confuses me why you would say that to someone you just met. I wonder if it's a cultural thing. Maybe he thought he was doing me a favor by warning me that I missed shaving the hair on my face. But whatever the reason, I never really talked to him again.

Great shot. And that`s true, why media tries to make people belive that healthy skin is flawless? It never is

You are completely right! We should be proud of our body in the way it is. Beautiful photo! What kind of leaf is it?

The stunning one.

As for your question:
"But then why does the popular media tell us we should want to look like we have a serious medical condition?"

I think it's not just the media. Good look and beauty ~ health ~ youth ~ fertility, or something like that. Thousands years of evolution says that those are good. There's difference between actual beauty and make-up though. So, as I told before, I like the picture

I love the concept behind this.
I think we all eventually get tired of the comercial perfectness; we should stop trying to look like dolls, and start looking like humans.

The leaf is a skeleton leaf from a bag of potpourri. You can find more information on skeleton leaves and how they were prepared online
