Apocalypse is probably one of the influences for the outfit, especially the version drawn by Walter Simonson. But for the most part it's influenced by manga/anime, stuff like Evangelion and Zeiram. It has evolved over time, I just like drawing the metallic banding and straps both thick and thin.
Basically, I'm deranged, and this is the result.
