Pencil drawing colored in Photoshop, Aug 2016.11x14 color commission for DelvarStoneheart showing an armwrestling match between his Grud, the gnome barbarian, and Night the half ogre-mage. Night is indulging Grud's 'never-say-die' berzerker spirit to test just how strong he is. This has gone on so long that Marcus the demon mage andΒ Baerniss the dwarf ranger have long passed drunkenness and descended into exhaustion.

I love the way this has turned out.
Everything, the composition, the coloring, the shading, and all the details. The way you have caught the mood of all the characters, reflected in their body language and facial expressions. To me this is another masterpiece.
By the way: Marcus is not a mage, he relies not on magic but on his own inner mental powers, and he is human all right, but with the bloodline of a devil.

Hope you don't mind me replying to you here, have to say I love the characters and the scenario Jeb's portrayed them in here. I even like the attention to detail of the disinterested Innkeeper. If there were a follow up I imagine him holding out his free hand for compensation for his tabletop being turned into matchwood, still holding the tankard in the other hand, not looking up, no change in pose or expression.

If this is a traditional fantasy, then Marcus is a Tiefling, which means horns and a tail. If not, what do you think we should call the species?

Well, I haven't defined Marcus as belonging to a specific species / sub-species, but Human with a bloodline. Marcus is not a tiefling, I know what you mean, and I know the tieflings, but in my little fantasy setting, I see the devilish traits as being far less prominent in Marcus, strong, but far more subtle.
