Next image features the gutsy Miyu Lynx. She and her teammate Fay used to be a independant two-man recon and rapid response team until she was personally invited into Star Fox. Even though she is a new recruit to the Star Fox team, that doesn't mean she has any lack of combat experience. I was thinking, why not just "Lylat"? Β
Make it free roaming, third person, MMO RPG, full customization, full modability, full universe, full cast from the originals (including the canceled characters from SF2) and Mass Effect style player interaction with NPCs, as well as voice communication with other players.Β Engage in firefights and space dogfights, join a faction or go rogue, add more factions (Macbethian Bundeswehr, North Macbethian SAS, Katinese Marines Guerrilla force, Fichinese Spec Ops, ect., more weapons based on real weapons with full customization, full character dress customization, species customization, and more...
A tall order and I just started learning code last week... but given enough time... I think we could get it done.

That would be really sweet. My friend and I have discussed such ideas where a future release could feature much less linear experiences.
But given my coding experience, which is next to none, it would take a bunch of like-minded individuals with enough skill to pull it off within Nintendo's EPD department. The concept of an MMO hasn't really been established yet, but we'll see. The NX console is opening its doors to more opportunity for software development, developers and consumers. ^^
'Lylat' as a title name for the MMO would work pretty well in my opinion. Simple and expansive.Β

Well... After two complete years of learning html, css, javascript, and C++, then I might have a chance of getting the project under way.Β So far, I've gotten about 1/32 of that done.

Cool cool. From what I have gather the C++ is pretty much primary language for Windows and Macintosh platforms isn't it?
I've only lightly touched Actionscript and Ruby. It's interesting to learn even though I barely have enough time to do anything else at the moment.

Yeah. C++ is a very low-level code.Β By low level, I mean the kind of code that computers can comprehend better than people, and therefore, makes troubleshooting less frequent, but is more difficult to write.
I haven't really heard of those.Β I'm sure I'll learn a bit more in the future.Β
And yes, I will be working on that star fox weapons spreadsheet.Β Now did you think that it should be through rank unlocks, or by purchase through completing missions?

Your artwork all seems really phenomenal, and I'm (hopefully) not just biased because I see so much Star Fox, a game that I, too, played quite a bit when I was younger. (Ah, the memories~)
Personally, I wish that Miyu and Fay could one day be brought back in a new game, as it seems unfortunate for the characters to have to sit out after SF2. (And from what I'm told the game was never officially released, either?)
Anyways, I don't know what you're up to these days, but here's hoping you're doing well.

Yeah, Fay and Miyu would be canon characters, however Star Fox 2 was dropped. Funnier still, it's believed that the near release of the N64 killed the final moments of production for that game. Therefore, Star Fox 2 was never officially released, but roms of the game now exist for emulators.

And the existence of the roms doesn't exactly surprise me, and I actually have one myself (although it likes to freeze up a lot XD), it seems like a really awesome game, a shame it couldn't have been officially released.

Note: Those who purchase the SNES Mini can now play SF2's completed version! And believe it or not, people have copied THAT rom, to give a more polished SF2 experience to the emulation! When you realize that this game could've been a good sequel...
