Even though the similarity isn't that striking, that reminded me of Spaceman Spiff's ship, which made me happy.

Yeah, I think so. It's sci-fi if you're into that kinda stuff; but it's actualy a fantacy auther. It's a good book to awnser your question, it's witty and fun. But also epic and deep. Well writen to add. I recomend it!

You're welcome. I expect a lot of spaceships, especially those drawn in the 30, 40s and 50s, were based on cars of the day. Deliberately or not, you have captured a very good retro style, and richly deserved the fav!
