This is an early shot, I mean like I only had my dslr for like a month. I got herons year round where I live and this shot was taken in late November of 2017.
I watched this guy come up to about 20-30 feet away to fish from me while my family was playing right behind me, it was amazing.

Manual Focus with single point AF on the eye. It was cloudy out and I lost too much luminescence for the sensor to AF.
