Contemplicia: fem. sing. of the product between contemporary, contemplate, and simplicity.Interpret the meaning of this piece as you like; I certainly have my views, and no doubt you have yours. Something totally different from me, and it felt good to do it. The background alone was over 30 layers here, and the original .psd size was 730.378 mb. No joke. Once I discarded unrequired layers, I got it down to 350mb or so, which is still by far my largest source image. Originally made at 4000x3000. 5 hours+ spent on it.

I love the hatchwork on the ground where she's sitting, and the muscles in her arm. Is the hatchwork just a brush, or did you did somthing layered with it? Were you painting on top of a photo, or was this freehand? Very nice...

The hatchwork started out as a photo of an old wall, believe it or not. After an awful lot of tweaking with it, it came out like this.
And yeah, I was painting on top of a stock photo for the woman.

That must have required an awful lot of tweaking; it's hardly recognizable. Now that I look at it again, I think part of the tranquility of this piece comes out of the painted look of the woman. I like that you can see the three layers of color you used for the jeans; it's surreal but instantly recognizable. Great piece...
